Lexi Cox’s work dances on the edge of “too much”, using figurative abstraction and humor to explore the body’s reaction to the unexpected. Through paintings and drawings, Cox embraces a garish and messy color palette; rather than correcting mistakes, she incorporates them as part of the fun. This same energy guides her choice of subject and composition; she aims to induce a childish interpretation of everyday life.
Lexi Cox earned an AA from McHenry County College and is currently attending the University of Illinois, Chicago, working toward her BFA in Fine Arts.
